Tiki -The Suffering Bastard

This is a classic Tiki cocktail dates back to the 1942 when Joe Scialom created this drink at the Shepherds Hotel in Cairo Egypt. The hotel was frequented by british sodiers on leave during World War 2 and featured some of the best cocktails around thanks to Joe. The story goes that Joe created this drink to help cure the hangovers of the soldiers the morning after a night of heavy drinking. All the ingredients make sense really. Ginger and bitters to ease your stomach and hair of the dog to reduce the throbbing headaches.

1oz Real Spirits Signature Whiskey

1oz Real Spirits Gin

1/4oz Liber and Co fiery Ginger syrup

3oz Ginger beer

1/2oz Lime juice

2 dash Bitters

pinch of NomNom Mushroom salt

Add crushed ice to a shaker along with the whiskey, gin, lime juice, ginger syrup, bitters and salt. Shake for 10 seconds and strain into a crushed ice filled rocks glass and top it off with the ginger beer. garnish with large bundle of mint.
